Set up your ID and name

This is your first task, and it takes about a minute. You only do it once on this device.

Study ID

The ID that came with your access link, in the form 2026-01. Only IDs on the study list are accepted. Enter the same one every time, or your progress will start over. Your study ID is saved with your session transcripts for the study team. It is never sent to the avatar or the AI services. See the privacy notice for what is stored.

Access code

The 8-character code that came with your study ID. If you opened the access link from the study team, it is already filled in.

The name you want to be called

Daniel and Dr. Hayes will call you by this name during your sessions. Choose whatever first name you wish to be called. Your own first name, a nickname, or a completely made-up name are all equally fine, and nobody will ask you which you picked. Because Daniel and Dr. Hayes say it out loud, this name is sent to the AI service that generates their speech, which is why it is yours to choose.
